Best of luck to this years 6th class children as they leave us for secondary school. We had a lovely mass yesterday to mark this special occasion.
We had our annual Sport’s day yesterday. It was a fantastic day for everyone. Ms. Casserly did a warm up with everyone. Mrs. Dervin organised the races, she had short races, long races and fun races for each class. Then in the afternoon we had a bouncy castle and the much anticipated final of the basketball blitz. Joe had organised the blitz over the past few weeks and had also taken all classes to work on their basketball skills. We really appreciate the effort Joe put in to all of this and it was a very enjoyable occasion. Well done to all!
Our school tours this year were very successful. The children in senior infants, 1st and 2nd went to Carrick on Shannon and had a great day out in kidz kingdom, supermacs lunch and the cinema. The children in 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th went to Tayto park and had a great day out there.
For the past week instead of our usual homework the children in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th had the task of creating a nativity scene. They were allowed to be creative and use a variety of materials. Today the children brought the cribs in to school and we are so impressed with the effort that was put in by everyone. Thank you to all the children, parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters and minders that helped to create these beautiful cribs. Well done to everyone, it was such an enjoyable exercise!
