For the past week instead of our usual homework the children in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th had the task of creating a nativity scene. They were allowed to be creative and use a variety of materials. Today the children brought the cribs in to school and we are so impressed with the effort that was put in by everyone. Thank you to all the children, parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters and minders that helped to create these beautiful cribs. Well done to everyone, it was such an enjoyable exercise!
We had assembly in our G.P room on 8th December. The 1st & 2nd class children told the advent story and the 3rd and 4th class children preformed some very entertaining songs!
We have been very busy in 1st and 2nd class since coming back to school – have a look at our art work, writing and SPHE/Religion that we have displayed around our classroom.
We had our sports day yesterday and although the weather forecast was not very promising it turned out to be a fantastic day and the rain only arrived in the afternoon. We hired a large bouncy slide for the day and the children had great fun on it. In the morning the younger classes had their races and the older classes went on the bouncy slide and after little break we switched over. At 1 o’clock Joe arrived to run a basketball blitz with the children from 3rd-6th, it was fantastic and very competitive. We had a great day, well done to all.
